Frequently Asked Questions

How does the BugStik work?
You place the BugStik over a bug or insect and then pull the handle. The bug is then trapped until you release it - outside, down the toilet, or whereever you like.

Does it kill the bug?
Only if you want to.  If you want to kill the bug, you can release it into your toilet and flush, or release it outside and step on it.  Bugs can also be killed with the BugSiks Compression Feature by placing the end of the BugStik flat on the ground after capturing a bug and pressing down on the hand grip to  compress and kill the bug.

Does the Mesh Head ever need to be cleaned?
If you use the BugStiks Compression Feature some bugs will just die and some will get a little smooched thereby requiring Mesh Head cleaning.

How do you clean the Mesh Head?
Just put it on water and a little dish soap and push and pull the handle, it will clean itself, then shake off the excess water, the mesh will dry quickly.

Is the Mesh Head replaceable?
Yes.

How do you replace the Mesh Head?
Simply unscrew it and screw in a new Mesh Head.

Will the BugStik catch big bugs?
Happy BugStik users have been know to catch very large creepy crawlers such as scorpions, lizards and tarantulas (we suggest you don't attempt to compress such a large creepy crawler in the BugStik).  Large critters might not be completely engulfed in the Mesh Head, a tail or leg could be hanging out, just pop them outside.

Is the BugStik hard to use?
No!  The BugStik is lightweight and pulling the handle to trap the bug is easy enough for everyone to do.

Can the BugStik catch flying insects?
Yes. You can wait until they land, or if you want a bit of a challenge, snatch them right out of the air.
